Safety Around a
 Concrete Pump

Presented by:  Mike Lavenuta, Western Concrete Pumping

The concrete pump is an integral part of every commercial construction project.  It is also one of the most dangerous pieces of equipment to work with and around.  The pump operator has a large task keeping the concrete flowing while moving the pump throughout a job site full of other trades and workers.  There are many ways to have a successful pour with no problems, but it takes the team to work together to prevent what can be deadly or disabling accidents due to a concrete pump.  We all can benefit from this informative presentation about what we need to be aware of and do when working with and around concrete pumps!  We thank Western pumping for sharing their experiences and expertise on this subject.

About our Speaker:  Mike Lavenuta has been in the concrete industry for over 48 years.  He began working for a ready mix supplier and then became a concrete contractor. The economy forced him back to ready mix where he was a driver and batch man.  In 1999 he went to work with Western Concrete Pumping as a dispatcher but in 2007 took over as the Company's safety program manager.
