Benefits of Lightweight Aggregate in Structural Lightweight Concrete and Internally Cured Concrete

Please join Arizona ACI for our first meeting in 2024:

The presentation will focus on Expanded Shale & Clay Structural Lightweight Aggregates and structural lightweight concrete (SLC). We will discuss the manufacturing process of the aggregate, design benefits of SLC, and applicable ASTM & ACI standards and recommendations. Additionally, we will look at some projects which utilized SLC beyond the “typical” metal deck applications along with a discussion on Internal Curing of concrete.

PRESENTER: Clint Chapman, Arcosa Lightweight

Clint Chapman is the Western Region Marketing & Technical Manager for Arcosa Lightweight. Clint is an NRMCA Certified Concrete Technologist – Level 3, with over 20 years’ experience in the concrete industry. The vast majority of which has been in the Lightweight Aggregates industry, with a focus on structural lightweight concrete.
